Obecni mistrzowie NBA – Boston Celtics po stracie Jamesa Poseya (odszedl do New Orleans Hornets) zapełnili jego miejsce Dariusem Milesem.
Darius Miles przed przyjściem do NBA zapowiadany był jako jedna z większych gwiazd ligi. Został wybrany w drafcie 2000 roku z numerem trzecim przez Los Angeles Clippers. Niestety Miles nigdy gwiazdą nie został z powodu bardzo częstych kontuzji. Ostatnie 4 lata kariery, które spędził w Portland Trail Blazers również były przeplatane ciągłymi urazami.
Mimo to że Darius Miles stracił zupełnie 2 ostatnie sezony, zarówno manager Celtics Danny Ainge jak i sam zawodnik są bardzo optymistycznie nastrojeni po dokonanej transakcji.
